Our new online requests service has launched as part of an interactive upgrade

Our dedicated online requests website requests.edgefm.uk has been retired. This was hosted on legacy out of date software and was in need of an upgrade. It also offered a poor experience for mobile users as the pages didn’t load correctly – frustrating as this is likely where it would be used the most, particularly at live events.

We have integrated the requests system directly into our main website. Simply visit the Requests page, search the track you are looking for, provide your name/any message and request the track.

This is part of a wider interactive upgrade to our website. Our Song History page now shows the current playing track, the previous 10 played tracks, and the upcoming 3 tracks. We utilise an interactive online broadcasting license which makes this possible.

We are currently limiting requests to 3 tracks per IP address, over a period of 3 hours. There are also policies that prevent the same track being requested within a certain timeframe – we don’t diclose this timeframe. This is to ensure the best experience for all our listeners and avoid any spamming. We would appreciate any feedback at hello@edgefm.uk

We are aware of an issue where the music stops on the player when using the requests form, unlike when browsing the rest of the site where the player plays continuously. This is a known issue, we don’t have a fix for it at this time due to how the requests plugin works.

We hope this feature will provide a better experience for our listeners.
